A memorable picture, taken 42 years ago, when I was a political student of Pir Pagaro.

My pleasant and memorable meet-up with my political teacher late Sayyid Shah Mardan Shah-II, widely known as Pir of Pagaro VII, the spiritual leader of Hurs and president of the political party Pakistan Muslim League, at a dinner in Hyderabad in 1983.

I was introduced to Pir Pagaro in 1978 by the late Nawab Yameen Khan, General Secretary of Pakistan Muslim League Sindh, at Kingri House Karachi.

In 1979, Pir Pagaro appointed me the Senior Vice President of the Pakistan Muslim Students Federation (PMSF) Sindh.

Later, in February 1982, I was elected as Councillor of Hyderabad Municipal Corporation in a bye-election and reelected again in 1983 for the tenure of 1983 to 1987 from the constituency of Latifabad Unit Number 6 and 7 D.

After my M.B.B.S from Liaquat Medical College (LMC) Jamshoro, I started a house job in medicine, then in surgery, but I also got admission to Jinnah Law College Hyderabad and got an L.L.B degree in 1988.

In 1988, I opened a clinic in G.O.R Colony Hyderabad but in 1993, I accepted the offer of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto to become Advisor to the Chief Minister of Sindh with the status of Provincial Minister / Member of the Sindh Cabinet after consulting Pir Pagaro.

But till the death of Pir Pagaro in January 2012, I remained in contact with the Pir Pagaro and was honoured by the Pir Pagaro for his political teachings and political guidance.

I also remained in contact with Pir Pagaro during the tenure of my Advisor to the Chief Minister of Sindh with the permission of Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto, which I granted from her before joining as Advisor to the Chief Minister of Sindh.
