A memorable picture, taken 31 years ago, in January 1994, during the International Rohani Conference held by Silsila Azeemia at Muraqaba Hall Hyderabad in Gulshan-e-Shahbaz Jamshoro, Sindh.

With my Spiritual Teacher, Khawaja Shamsuddin Azeemi, the second head of the Azeemiyya order, authorised from his Murshid, Muhammad Azeem Barkhiya commonly referred to as Qalandar Baba Auliya, the founding Imam and Spiritual Master of the Azeemi Sufi Order (Known in Urdu as Silsila Azeemiyya), which takes its name from him.

And my Chief Minister Syed Abdullah Shah, Chief Minister of Sindh, father of present Chief Minister of Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah (I was the Advisor To Chief Minister of Sindh).

Khawaja Shamsuddin Azeemi passed away on Friday, 21 February 2025 (22 Sha’ban 1446 Hijri) at the age of 97 in Karachi, Pakistan.

I was introduced to Khawaja Shamsuddin Azeemi by my cousin Arshad Ali Azeemi in January 1990. We went to search for land in Gulshan-e-Shahbaz Jamshoro to establish the Muraqaba Hall Hyderabad in Gulshan-e-Shahbaz Jamshoro. Later on, I was honoured by close companionship and spiritual guidance from Khawaja Shamsuddin Azeemi.

The company of my Spiritual Mentor, Khwaja Shamsuddin Azeemi, inclined my nature toward seeking closeness to Allah, loving the Messenger of Allah, Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), understanding the game of life, striving to correct my worldly life and build my life in the Hereafter by reflecting on the verses of the Holy Quran, and gaining awareness of the knowledge contained in the Quran.
